Caring for Grizzly fabric backpacks and school bags

Backpacks and satchels with the Grizzly logo fell in love with adults and children. They are worn with pleasure by students and schoolchildren, athletes and entrepreneurs, young girls and their mothers. This is not surprising: the products are beautiful, durable and retain their shape well. Made from nylon, polyester or tarpaulin, they are sun-resistant, lightweight, and water-repellent.

To keep your school bag looking like new

Children are big fidgets, their knapsacks have to experience daily stress; sometimes they even play football at recess. Therefore, the task of parents is to teach schoolchildren how to care for a backpack, otherwise they will have to buy a new one every year.

Grizzly satchels are made of quality fabrics with a water-repellent coating or impregnation. Stains and dirt from the surface of the products are removed with a damp sponge and liquid soap. If the procedure does not bring results or there is too much pollution, the backpack is washed by hand, without strong wringing and twisting. The water temperature should not exceed 30 ° C, and the detergent should be taken without a bleaching effect. In extreme cases, you can also wash in an automatic machine using a gentle mode.

Grease stains are removed with dishwashing detergent. It is strongly not recommended to use gasoline and acetone to remove stains! In the case of polyester and nylon, they can ruin the fabric. If the stain is fresh, it can be removed with a solution of laundry soap, processing in a circular motion, from the center of the stain to the periphery.

The better the school bag, the easier it is to take care of it and the longer it retains its appearance. It is impossible to save on the purchase of such an important accessory.

How to extend the life of a backpack

The new backpack, alas, does not please the eye with perfect cleanliness for long. Frequent trips in public transport and «journeys» through student classrooms — and now your favorite thing has become dusty. The easiest way to deal with such a problem: just wipe the backpack with a damp sponge, and it will shine like new again. It is more difficult for those who, with a backpack behind their back, ride a skateboard or ride a bicycle. The fabric of the product is impregnated with sweat, becomes stiff, covered with white spots. In such situations, a wet wipe is powerless. A separate «story» — forays into nature and hiking, from where the backpack returns with the aromas of smoke, barbecue. There is only one way out: wash.

Wash

Washing of new products, as well as backpacks with a frame, should be avoided; for the rest it is a normal procedure. To bring to life a very dirty canvas, nylon or polyester backpack, it is soaked and then washed in a mild detergent solution. The water temperature is not higher than 30 °C. First, the inner and outer pockets are freed from small items — coins, paper clips, lighters, etc. During the washing process, the product is lightly passed over with a foam rubber sponge with an abrasive coating until the stains dissolve and the dirt is washed out.

Drying

The backpack is not twisted by hand and is not wrung out in the washing machine. It is suspended so that the water will glass itself, in a place protected from direct sunlight. Then they are leveled so that there are no creases. Drying the product on the battery and near an open flame should be avoided — it can be deformed. If you need to dry the backpack quickly, it is stuffed with crumpled newspapers, not forgetting the pockets. After washing and drying, operation is not possible immediately, but after a couple of days, when residual moisture has evaporated from the surface.

Care rules

  1. Before washing or removing stains from a backpack, school bag or shoe bag, they must be shaken and vacuumed inside and out.
  2. When removing stains, use a pipette for convenience.
  3. The fabric of the backpack is not ironed.
  4. You can get rid of extraneous odors with the help of coffee beans, poured inside for 8-12 hours. Suitable and cat litter, placed in a cloth bag.
  5. Plastic zippers also need care — they are regularly cleaned with a toothbrush and treated with paraffin grease.

A few words about water resistance. The surface of backpacks and schoolbags, of course, repels water, but to a certain extent. In addition, during the operation of products, this ability is gradually lost. Therefore, it is recommended to impregnate the fabric from time to time with special water-repellent sprays that can be purchased at tourist equipment stores (carefully reading at the same time what kind of materials they are intended for). There are also waterproof covers for backpacks to keep them dry even during heavy rain.
